The pre-registration for the VI IOAA is now open. The VI IOAA will take place in Rio de Janeiro, from 04 to 14 August 2012, inclusive. The LOC will provide transportation from the airport to the hotel on the 04 August only. Registration and Welcome Ceremony will take place on this same night. The participants will stay in a city about 120km from the city of Rio from 07 to 14 August.

The countries willing to participate are requested to send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (Mrs. Roseana Costa) up to 01 February 2012, with the following information.

Suggestions to the LOC, if any:

At this time we need approximate numbers and an idea of how many teams there will be. If you later decide to bring a student less or more we will deal with that during final registration. The LOC will limit the number of full teams (2 leaders + 5 students) in 30, and the selection will be made according to the final registration order. The LOC might decide to accept more than 30 teams, depending on final logistics and financial situation. Presently we are not able to decide about
invitation of guest teams. This decision will be made by the end of the pre-registration. The final registration will be from 15 February to 15 May, 2012, when the Leaders will be requested to send detailed information about their teams. For legal and bureaucratic reasons we cannot yet give a precise observer fee or the fees for extra nights beyond the IOAA period, but the observer fee might not exceed 1500 EUR.

Please, email us if you need formal invitations or other information immediately for getting funding. Formal invitations for visas etc will be sent out later.

We will have a medical/first-aid team on hand, but (as was the case in previous IOAAs), all participants should have medical and travel insurance for the period (European Health Insurance Card for EU participants) in case of serious problems.

Further information about general IOAA rules can be found here.

We look forward to seeing you in Rio de Janeiro,

Thais Mothe-Diniz and Eugenio Reis Neto
(Head and Co-Head of the Organizing Commitee)
